……women’s history month

Happy Women’s History Month.

I love women….. and it all started with my Mom. She was the coolest of the cool and we were best buddies. She engendered in me the love of so many things; including sports, reading, music, cultural activities etc. She also engendered in me an appreciation of cool women, and I find that even to this day, a disproportiate number of people on my team are women.

I love their insight, compassion, strength, intelligence and probably most of all; their ability to tolerate and accept situations and people that are new and unfamiliar to them… i.e. their ability to love. I’m not saying of course that all women are this way. But the ones that are, and that have remained in my life are AWESOME!! And my life has been enriched as a result.

Since 1987 the United States has recognized March as Women’s History Month and March 8 in particular as International Women’s Day. What began as a week-long celebration in Sonoma, California, is now a month dedicated to honoring and celebrating the contributions and accomplishments of great women throughout history.

Here are a few links to help celebrate Women’s History Month.

I thank the women in my life for their love and support…

I  wish you all health, happiness and peace. May you continue to be blessed as you bless others.

Musically yours,

Women’s History Month

There are so many incredible women to celebrate in March since it is Women’s History Month but I’ve chosen Lena Horne to bring to your attention this year. Her success, but more meaningfully her battle against the stereotypes and prejudices of her day seemed important to me in this election year. Take a moment if you will to read about her. Here’s a link.
