Hi everyone
I’ll be releasing a new single entitled “Stop Look Listen”. Look out for it to drop in the next week or so. It’s a song that has always resonated for me. It was made famous by the Stylistics whom I had the pleasure of recently performing with in Memphis. A great bunch of guys.
I am working hard in the studio these days. I’ve always loved the studio and have always cherished it as a place where (for me) everything makes sense. I find social media and the news hard to digest and understand these days, and I think we all occasionally need a break from the madness. I hope some romantic music will make you feel as good as it makes me feel when I’m creating it..
I picked “Stop, Look, Listen (to your heart)” to record because it is a song that I find particularly pertinent today. I believe that its increasingly important for each of us to look in the mirror and search long and hard about our beliefs and update them if needed…… and change them…… if somewhere along the line they got headed in the wrong direction. We all have that power.
When we look in that mirror, I believe we should have an eye towards what’s good for ALL PEOPLE. Not just ourselves, or the group we are associated with. At the end of the day, we are all in this together. Its not an easy task but one that worthy of our attempt.
On another note I’d like to urge my fans and friends to please vote in these mid terms elections and all elections from here on out. We need you. Even if you have never voted before, please register and vote now. You may not believe in the system… you may not like the options available…. believe me I completely understand. But if we do nothing and wait for the perfect option, the perfect answer, we give up our chance to have our say and head things in the direction we feel is right. Every vote is going to count from here on out. So please, I urge you to use your voice.

Did you know you can set it up so you can vote by mail? You don’t have to take time off work to vote.

Remember the things that mean the most to you and vote your conscience.
I don’t know about you, but I see so many people struggling these days… Times are difficult for everyone but I still believe in Miracles. Here’s a song I wrote entitled “Miracles”. Its message is “BE THE CHANGE”
And (as I always try and end with love) here is my song “Without You”. After all is said and done, love is the most powerful tool we have at our disposal.

“Self-preservation shouldn’t be the first instinct in politics. It should be doing the right thing for the country. SETH MOULTON
Human greatness does not lie in wealth or power, but in character and goodness. People are just people, and all people have faults and shortcomings, but all of us are born with a basic goodness. ANNE FRANK
Blessings to you all. As always I am

Before too much time passed I thought I would share a little about my trip to Memphis. Here are some interesting facts if you’d like to know even more. I’d like to thank Imad Handi who carried on with the show and did as David Gest would have liked. I would also like to thank Oona Mitchell of Royal Studios and her son Daniel for all their help. (This is where Bruno Mars “Uptown Funk” was produced by the way). Feel free to click the many links in this post for a more thorough appreciation of Memphis, Tennessee.
It was great fun to work with so many of the artists I grew up listening to. Backstage we were singing every word!
I got in from my flight rather late; about 10PM where I was taken to the world famous Peabody Hotel. A small problem though…. they had booked my room 🙁 I thought I would have nowhere to stay. The evening Manager (Dewayne Shipp) had something up his sleeve however. This can happen from time to time; and after sincerely apologizing they sent us to The Pyramid’s Big Cypress Lodge for one night to be brought back to the Peabody in the morning. I was puzzled that he was chuckling a bit as he sent us on our way. (Of course I understand things now). This place was like an amusement park for outdoor enthusiasts and I never would have learned about it if the mix up hadn’t happened.
The Pyramid is the former home of the Memphis Grizzlies and is now the Bass Pro Shop headquarters. It turned out to be quite a lot of fun. There are lagoons and bridges and boats and fish and alligator’s all INSIDE the pyramid, alongside sports equipment and all the miscellaneous sales items. The Lodge is above looking down on this.

There is an elevator that goes to the top of the pyramid where you can see a lovely view of the Mississippi River and the city. (Note: It’s the tallest free standing elevator in the country).

Going down anyone?… (watch out for the alligators)
The next day was back to the Grand Peabody (where I was graciously upgraded to the Celebrity Suite), rehearsals, and on to the show with a quick trip down Beale Street.
The Peabody Hotel is known for its red carpet treatment of the ducks that live on the roof and play in the lobby every day. Kind of silly but kind of neat. Its the ritual of the thing that is amusing.
You can’t go the Memphis and not go to Beale Street which was only a block away from the hotel. Here are a few pics.
While I already posted some of the incredible performers on the show on facebook; I thought I would post again here on my personal blog as well. Below them are some world famous music videos.
