My talented friend Dorothy Moore (of “Misty Blue” fame) will be gracing us all with a wonderful new release due out in a few months. We are all excited about it and I had the pleasure of writing a song for her to be included in the collection. This woman can really “saaang”. When we toured together, she brought the house down every night. Be on the lookout.
I was raised. I didn’t just grow up. I was taught to speak when I enter a room, say please and thank you, to have respect for my elders and let the elder in the room have my chair, say ‘yes sir’ and ‘no sir’, lend a helping hand to those in need, hold the door for the person behind me, say “excuse me’ when it’s needed and to love people for who they are and not for what I can get from them. I was also taught to treat people the way I want to be treated.
How about you?
This is: “Middle of Harlem”
I hope you enjoy the upcoming holidays with family and friends. Remember that we are all people and (if you can) take the time to lend a hand… do a kind deed… help a friend or a stranger. For us here in “Abbott ville” the holidays represent gratitude… I am grateful for my life… my friends… my family and you.
“Treat each other how you would like to be treated”… That’s is how my parents raised me.
A simple kind word can often mean a lot….
Be well y’all
Musically yours, Gregory
