We are all so busy with our lives and spending time on social media we don’t often get the chance to just stop and breathe.
I pray you are as well as can be expected considering the times we are living in.
Fall is here and that means the holidays. I hope good things come from the quiet renewal time of the season. Perhaps we will all finally get that “thing” done that we were putting off… (whatever it is). Maybe we will read that book, listen to that podcast or finally subscribe to the uplifting youtube channel we’ve been meaning to.
I am so grateful to all of you who have been enjoying my latest music “Chill” and “Summer in the City”. It’s been a crazy and difficult year for everyone, and I am thankful to be able to continue doing what I love.
There is nothing better for an artist than to be appreciated for the kinds of musings that inspire them to create and that are in their heart and mind in the present.
As most of you know I am in the studio at the moment. I’m very excited to say I will have some wonderful new songs coming your way in 2022🌹
Here’s a poem called “Autumn”by Amy Booth (Age 10)
Look at the different coloured leaves,
Swaying gently with the breeze,
Lovely reds, browns and greens,
All waiting to fall from the trees.
When they leave they twist and turn,
Ready to join the masses of fern,
Landing softly on the ground,
You can taste the smell of autumn, all around.
That’s it for now
please remember to follow, subscribe and all that jazz
As many of you know…. my new single is out. I am so glad to see you enjoying the romantic summer vibe.. there is nothing like summer music for engaging in good times.
We have had more than our share of stress lately. In light of this, and with the winter months behind us, I thought it would be nice to write a warm weather song. One where we remember our connection to each other and more importantly to love.
We just released the music video “Summer in the City” on YouTube today.
Be on the lookout for the upload directly to Facebook.
Here are some blurbs about the release and links to some really great reviews.
As he celebrates a remarkable 35 years since his #1 Billboard pop/R&B smash (“Shake You Down”), singer/songwriter Gregory Abbott is still moving us, with this musical invitation into the sultry, romantic flow of the season with his infectious, slow simmering single, “Summer in the City.” It’s the perfect summer soundtrack that that adds emotional heft to his prolific legacy of singles. With just a tinge of balmy Latin energy reflecting his Venezuelan/Antiguan parentage, the song creates a perfect slow dance mood while showcasing his lush, soulful lead voice as he interacts playfully with a flirty chorus of shinning backing female vocals. Make some new memories with Gregory Abbott’s “Summer in the City”!
Lastly, I want to bring to your attention an imposter on YouTube to be aware of.
While we are working on getting our final verification badges for Instagram and YouTube please be aware that there are always scammers out there.
I want to publicly post the fakers email address and YouTube link and what he is saying so that you may be more aware. Please report this person, block him and do not attempt to speak to them… as they are up to no good.
They are using the address firstname.lastname@example.org and they seem mostly to use “hangouts” or Whatsapp. This is not my email address and I am on neither whatsapp nor do I use google hangouts.
His fake YT channel is
“I want to Specially appreciate you for being a big fan. Thanks for your nice comment onmy post, it means a lot to me. I want you to send me a direct message via email@example.com, or send your WhatsApp number.”… there are variations on this theme
So that’s that… Stay safe.
I hope covid wise, things in your areas have begun to open up and we continue to regain our freedoms safely…
Now… on to some summer music.
“Fly through the world like a peaceful dove…. sing a pretty song, spread a little love.”
I’m excited to let you know I’ll be releasing a new single
Its called “Searchin’ 4 the 1”
…… an Island flavored danceable tune that sings about the hope of one day finding love… presented in a fun light hearted way.
So please be on the lookout ….
As some of you already know… lol… there is a fun new design for the shop…. I guess my artsy fairies were listening when you all mentioned how much you liked the recent shot we posted on social media…. I like it and think it’s perfect for spring….
Sustainable Development Goal #3
Is to ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages.
Major progress has been made in improving the health of millions of people, increasing life expectancy, reducing maternal and child mortality and fighting against leading communicable diseases*. However, progress has stalled or is not happening fast enough with regard to addressing major diseases, such as malaria and tuberculosis.
At least half the global population does not have access to essential health services and many of those who do– suffer undue financial hardship (due to the high costs of health care), potentially pushing them into extreme poverty.
Note: *The coronavirus has been a real tradegy all over the world affecting thousands of people…. Please be careful. I think at this point everyone is aware of the things to watch out for…. But just in case I want to put a link here for those who might want to re-read it or learn further.
… and since as a child I went to St. Patrick’s Cathedral and sang in the choir… I’d like to take a moment to wish all my Irish fans
Happy St Patrick’s Day…
“Looking forward to the future and grateful for the past”
“Nothing in life is to be feared, it is only to be understood. Now is the time to understand more, so that we may fear less…
Thank you all for your support…. As always, I am Musically yours, Gregory
