……steady purpose
“Nothing contributes so much
to tranquillize the mind as a steady purpose,
a point on which the soul may fix its intellectual eye.”
Hey all. I told you not to worry if you signed up to my blog… that I wouldn’t bombard you with posts… Its been a productive time here at the studio…. A few things to talk about….. Hope everyone is well and making the most of every single day and not getting caught up in petty dumb things… (Somebody’s laughing right now….yes we all do that from time to time; but we try not to right?).
I was tickled last week when I came to my studio/office at gregoryabbott.com and the “ladies” surprised me with a cake with “CONGRATULATIONS” written on it…. Seems they’re pretty happy with ReverbNation ranking me #1 in R&B/Soul for the entire San Francisco Bay Area. They are one of the largest online music sites. And we’re currently ranked Nationally #13 and Globally #16.
I have to give most of the credit to the hard-working women here (most of you already know I have a female staff… it just happened that way 🙂 I’ve just been doing what I always do: writing, singing, producing, recording, mixing etc (taking a minute to have some fun)… They must have come up with some kind of plan and they made it happen, so I thank them from the bottom of my heart.
The new release is moving along. No set date yet. Will keep you posted. Musically everything just seems to be growing……
I wish I had been able to get back east to participate in the 50th anniversary March on Washington. Wow. 50 years!
Our friends came back from Burning Man with a new sense of spiritual purpose that’s been infectious to those who didn’t attend this year. Some wonderful transformations take place out there on the playa. It’s great to see folks treating each other with respect, generosity and encouragement and to see them come back with that same spirit. Must attend next year. If you aren’t familiar with burning man here’s a link: http://www.burningman.com/
Did you know that September 21st is International Peace Day ? I just found this out and have decided I will begin celebrating it. It was created by a vote of the United Nations General Assembly in 1981, this day is dedicated to establishing and promoting World peace. It is celebrated by countries around the world. World peace is a valuable and worthy proposition. You would think it easy to accomplish, as no one really wants war and unrest. Unfortunately, complete world peace still proves unreasonable. This is not to say that it is impossible, or even that the world has not moved in this direction. The world is truly more peaceful today than it was yesterday, or the day before, or the day before,….. I’m always hopeful… (Remember that lots of things that couldn’t be done have been done).
Here’s something to be AWARE of… Did you know that low-fat foods are actually making us fatter?? Turns out that when we buy what we think is a “low-fat” food we automatically increase our perception of an appropriate serving size by 25% The other thing is we automatically assume it has fewer calories. On average we’re eating up to 50% more than if we did not buy that low-fat food…. sad but true.
That’s it for now. I appreciate you all and how you’ve supported my career and enabled me to do what I love doing and that is to create music. I’ll always do my best for you.
Until next time… I am musically yours.
Have a listen to: “Easy 2 B With You”
One Love, Gregory

Not sure if any members of my ..very large family..sent you an email about The Voice on NBC. My cousin’s daughter Tessanne Chin is battling to be this year’s winner. So she needs your vote and your fans too..so spread the word.
A couple more shows then its the public that decides who goes & who stays. If you have not been watching, you can view her..like her on Facebook. And I would like to hear your opinion on her singing. (smile)

She’s absolutely wonderful…… powerful voice and stage presence… charming personality….. and that accent! (I could listen to her talk all day. Makes me feel at home). I posted her performance on fb and I’ll be sure to “like” her as well. She has a strong chance.

Hi Gregory
Thanks for continuing to share your music, thoughts & ideas. I was one of the fans who was upset that you disappeared for awhile. I just want to say:
Communication is the lifetime of any relationship. When you stop communicating, you start losing valuable relationships. So stay in touch always & forever.
Whether you know it..or like it..you are into a relationship with all your fans..lol

Hi Gregory Abbott
This is one of your GanD fans. Just came back from CA. My Husband & I went to a wedding and our HS reunion. Both events were marvelous. We were hoping to do a hop-skip-&-a jump over the bridge to your side of the world, but those plans..fell apart. Anyhow, my in-laws live near the Marina (they are actually boat people..build them, fix them, sail them..
etc & etc. So hopefully our next trip will be smooth sailing and we can all meet & greet you.
Have a nice day 2U..& all your fans/bloggers
Blessings from Ellen & Jeff
