New Song…… New Year
Jennifer Warnes (“I’ve Had The Time of My Life”, “Love Lift Us Up” etc…) a fellow artist whose voice and style I had admired for many years, requested I write a song for her upcoming album. I was delighted and immediately set to work to accomplish the task. A sensitive love song delving into the more subtle aspects of caring for one another. A lot of care went into having the chord motifs match the sentiment of the lyric. The result garnered her a top ten single. This was the original demo.

Hi Gregory Abbott
This is my first time on your blog, but feel I know you for over 25 years, because of that very famous & romantic song that has been on my families playlist from its release. Whether its a reunion, wedding, birthday party or just everyday gatherings..there you go singing a song that we like. I’ve been trying to follow you, but I find myself following them. Reading what they have written to you..about you, has been very interesting. I see they have all mention my uncle’s (Samuel Churnac) recent milestone….making it to his 100th day on earth. Well I can top that, because my father (Timothy Churnac) will be 104 on February 1st 2013. He lives here (BVI) with my mother, who is 17 years younger than father. Who is the oldest of all his siblings (7 brothers & twin-sisters)…only one brother, he would have been 101 last year, but he passed on about 40 yrs ago. Father also have the most children(8)…..six with my mother..and two sons from a previous marriage. My brothers Timmy & Tommy grew up with my mother, because they are only 13 years younger than her. And she & father had five girls before another son came forth. He will be 44 years young next week. We are all excited about father’s upcoming birthday…and no doubt your music will be the highlight of the occasion. Wouldn’t it be wonderful if…….just once……….. you would show up, singing those songs we love so much…
Just a thought!!..Just Thinking!!!
Now its time for me to ..”Wrap it Up”

Iris my friend
How is the sunshine in your paradise? For someone who is writing on Gregory’s blog for the first time, you sure have been informative. Have no idea how the poor man going to keep up with you people. I’ve known you all half my life..and I cannot keep track who is who. Three-Quarter of you look so much alike …its confusing. but most of all the ‘Sweet-Sixties” look like “Fabulous Forties” Must be that West Indian Ocean. ..or is it the Caribbean Sea?
Come to think of it you all look 20 years younger than your birth-papers. Especially, that Mona. Nobody, believes she in her 70s and had 7 kids. Is she still doing belly-dancing?
OK my friend

“Rock You Gently,” … ahh … tender romance makes life precious and one should not waste life with another who is unreliable. Thanks for sharing Gregory. Love, Juanita

DID YOU SAY, IT WAS WRITTEN FOR A MOVIE?

No it was written for Jennifer Warnes. Her version was released on her album “The Hunter” and got her a top ten hit.
