Gregory, hope this email finds you well.

Just wanted to drop a quick note to thank you for all of your beautiful music you have provided over the years. I have been a DJ since 1981 in the Baton Rouge, LA market. I am also a friend of your pal Mr. Alvin Mack back in the school days!

My son Patrick has taken over the business and we continue to play your songs at each event. “Shake you Down” is always a hit during my weddings. I’ve played over 2,000 events and now I fill in on some weekends when he is doubled booked.

As a professional DJ, your music has helped me pay for LSU and get a four year degree through my DJ gigs and you are my favorite channel these days on Pandora. My wife and I relax by the pool and drink a glass of wine to your station very often!

I hope that you tour soon so I have a chance to meet you and thank you for what you and other artists like yourselves has done for us out here pounding the wedding scenes for years.

I have a wall of fame where I have had a chance to get an autograph from great artists like you where I invite our clients to meet. If possible, can I send you something to sign for my office? I can paypal or provide an address if needed.

I wish I could send a picture of my office. You would be amazed! Percy Sledge, Jerry Reed, George Winston, Michael Bolton, 38 Special, ZZ Top, Carol King, Harry Connick,, Pam Tillis, Christopher Cross are just a few to name.

I also wanted to send you our website so you knew we were legit.

Again, thank you for your music and know that we will always support you in the Louisiana market!

    DJ Mike Fruge

Enjoying my newest treasures from your shop….. the items were top-quality from the beginning and the prints are also excellent.
I LOVE my GA-world, filled with your merch, signed pictures and music. ๐ŸŽต ๐ŸŽถ
Praying for your wellbeing every day, that God and His Universe will keep on guiding you and protecting you from all evil and sickness, so I and everyone else who hold you dear will be able to enjoy everything about you for a lot more years to come…… I wish it was possible to say โ€˜for eternityโ€™. ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿพโค๏ธ๐ŸคŽ๐Ÿฅ‡

  3. Mercury Storm says:

Dear Gregory, are you all right, my friend? I really hope you are safe and well during this crisis. Just about every state, including mine, is now on lockdown. This is a very serious situation.
In my county alone, there have been 55 deaths, and 1, 055 cases. I live in Youngstown Ohio, and we have been hit hard with this. Very hard.
I know California has been hit harder.
But I pray that you are all right. Happy almost birthday, by the way.

  4. Ron Myers says:

Gregory we appreciate your art and your contributions to the music world. Your music will last forever. Whenever I was on a date, I played your tunes and with a glass of wine made the evening enjoyable. Keep singing my brother and stay well.

  5. claudia williams says:

Hi Gregory. I discovered you in the 80’s. I fell in love then and that love is even stronger today.
Your music has been with me through good times, bad times and I don’t know what I would do if I couldn’t access your music. Everything you do is beautiful.
Thank you for your perseverance. God bless you and your family always.

    • Claudia

Thank you for your kind words…… So happy my music has brought you some measure of peace and joy…… that is my very reason for doing music.

      Blessings ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿผ

    • Stephanie Yates says:

Wow, I used to love your music. Hadn’t heard it in awhile until tonight at a family gathering… someone said to me you used to love his music, I sure did. When I got home I looked up some of your songs on youtube, it’s been nice hearing it again. Much love.

  6. Betty says:

I was not able to listen to your new song (“My Heart……………..”) until tonight. I moved recently and my brother thought he would trade out my computer for a “better” one he had from work. It would not work with websites from the workplace from which I retired. He returned my computer but not my speakers, until tonight. The love of my life and I disagree on our favorite song ๐Ÿ˜„ “My Heart” is nice, but “Crazy Over You” just gives me the all overs. I have been missing it. I guess having choices is what makes the world go around. I continue to love your work.

  7. Marie Talley says:

I have followed your career ever since you shook me down in 1986. I am really feeling this new single, mainly because my heart is looking for a home. Thank you for sharing your gift…

  8. Kathleen Heffron says:

    You are the greatest

  9. Shelly says:

Love your music! I hope you plan to perform here in Philly in the near future.
Just thought you’d want to know that there’s a typo on your home page. The Father’s Day greeting goes out to “fella’s.” I’m sure as a Berkeley grad you know that
the apostrophe shouldn’t be there. ๐Ÿ™‚

    • Thank you for writing in Shelly. I will post in โ€œwhatโ€™s newโ€ when (and where) I will be performing.

Apparently my staff is not familiar with proper punctuation all the time ๐Ÿ˜ƒ Iโ€™ll try and have them make the correction.

    • Anna Zarate says:

My name is Anna Z. I live in Dallas, Texas and I have been listening to your music. I love hearing you at night. You play and sing with great intelligence!… ๐Ÿ™†๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ

I bet your wife loves bet of you ๐Ÿคฆ๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ
Sorry I should have asked if you are you married or in a relationship first ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ

Youโ€™re a very handsome man anyone would want depends on their character right?

I want to know when you are coming to Dallas to tour and play your music at the American Airlines? Hopefully I can get to meet you one day if God is willing.

You have a blessed one today Gregory Abbott.

  10. Betty says:

I can’t wait until next month to learn the title of your new release. What day is it scheduled to drop? There are 31 days in August. I have no patience. I hope it is the song I suggested you record. Just tell me, I won’t tell anyone else.

A couple of months ago I was searching you tube and found some songs you recorded (probably later than “Shake You Down”) because they had not been viewed/played as often. It is amazing what you can find when you really aren’t looking for it. I have not been able to find them again. However, I did find a few songs the love of my life recorded. Unfortunately, they were recorded a long time ago and did not include videos. I think the last thing my friend recorded would have been a hit but he died in a car accident about a week after he recorded it. That song is not on you tube, but I did find it for sale on an online site and bought it years ago.

  11. Marva says:

    Hi, Greg
Strangest thing happened to me……I found you/your site…your song. I was transported literally back to the best days of my life the ‘real’ days of living, laughing, loving and dancing. Looking forward to the weekends, walking home after dancing at the disco, I am talking about the islands; no worries but what you are going to eat for breakfast, when you wake up, probably, around 1pm..ha, ha. What, I am trying to say is thanks, for letting me have confirm proof that it was all real.

    • You are most welcome. Thanks for writing in. Its true… music ๐ŸŽถ definitely has the ability to transport us back in time.

PS Regarding your other comment on website toolbox. My staff says they are looking into the unsecured question. We want to keep everyone safe… so if they donโ€™t update soon we may close it. Folks can always safely write in here however.

    • Tasha.Lowry says:

hi my name is Tasha I’m from Gulfport Mississippi and I wanted to know if you have any kids and are you married. You’ve always been a crush since I was a little girl you’re a very nice looking man.

  12. Mercury Storm says:

I’m a grandma again, Gregory! My daughter had a beautiful baby boy on May 1. He weighed 5lbs. 5.6oz and was 20″ long.
His name is J’Osiah Izaya Riley.
Oh, he is a precious angel.

  13. Betty says:

You are like the “Pied Piper of Soul”, luring all the ladies to California.

  14. Betty Kelley says:

Happy Birthday GJA. Welcome to Medicare. To celebrate, I bought a box of Ester Price Chocolate, milk and dark covered. I’m trying to pace myself this time. I have already eaten the piece marked for 3pm tomorrow. Next time I am going to see if the store will hold it behind the counter for me then I will walk there every time I want a piece. (I have no will power.)

    Celebrate tonight.

  15. Mercury Storm says:

Happy, happy birthday to you, Gregory!!! I hope you have a terrific day today!

  16. Betty says:

I love your voice and music, but I cannot get past “Shake You Down”. I listen to different versions on You Tube If I had it on an old time record, tape, etc. I would have replace it because it would be worn out, Nothing compares. It will stay fresh for eternity.

      • Betty says:

I’m starting to get attached to “I’ve Got a Feeling It’s Over” and “I’ll Prove it to You”. I also noticed you recorded some songs originally sung by some other artists. Have you ever thought about recording “I’ll Remember You”? This was recorded by Don Ho and Elvis. I would like to hear it done by you. That song just really touches my heart.

You have had an interesting life.

  17. Katia says:

    You have great Voice! ๐Ÿ™‚

  18. michele says:

  20. Sharlene B Willis says:

    I love you! Literally speaking.

  21. Mercury Storm says:

Gregory, I’m a new grandmother! My granddaughter was born this morning. She is precious. But other than that, I’m doing great.

    • Congratulations! The very best to you and your family.

      • Mercury Storm says:

Thank you. I wish I could send you a picture of my grandbaby.

      • Margaret Dube says:

Mr. Abbott, I was listening to YouTube, mostly Motown. Despite the music you chose, YouTube likes to give one a mixture–so there I was listening of a list of music and I kept hearing you and I thought to myself, who is this guy, he’s incredibly handsome and boy can he sing. Now, I thought I had a good handle on all male singers, and I went to high school in Windsor, across from Detroit and listened faithfully to American Bandstand back in the day. I’ve got a good ear and so I decided to look you up, quite confident that you
were either dead, old and fat. Imagine my surprise when I read your impressive bio: good schools, good guy and living in NYC (what could be better?).

So, of course, I’ve heard of your sister, Diane. She is beautiful and so tall as I recall. You sound like a really good person and I’m glad you’ve had a productive, happy life and that you’re spiritual and wealthy to boot!

  22. Patricia says:

I love your music and I am one of your biggest fans. Are you currently touring? I hope you are since I haven’t had the pleasure of attending any of your concerts.

Your new music is awesome, you can sing to me anytime handsome. Much success and endeavors for your future.

  27. Mercury Storm says:

I love your new songs, For Come Ya, Namaste, and Just Say Om. Those are powerful, but moving, songs. Keep up the good work, Gregory!

My favorite part of Thanksgiving is when I have family and friends to share it with. You see, it falls on the day my dad passed away, so it’s sort of a sad time as well. But I really hope you have a blessed holiday season.

  35. Mercury Storm says:

Do you want to hear my wish? It’s for a peaceful world, without war or hatred. Everyone would love each other, not fight. Besides that, how are you? Hope all is well. You are, and always have been, my favorite singer. Blessings and love to you , my friend.
