Blessings to all of you who celebrated the Easter Holiday. I remember my brother and I getting matching seersucker jackets (we were raised like twins) and seeing all the girls come out in their fancy bonnets and new spring dresses…. Easter always brings back nice memories for me. We also celebrated Earth Day this month and as a lover of the environment I am very happy that there is a holiday for the Earth. I think it began in the 1970’s. I know it started because a growing number of folks were worried about pollution and pesticides poisoning the air and water….. a problem we are continuing to deal with. I think a yearly holiday is helpful to keep people aware and so I always celebrate this day. I received some mighty good news about a friend who was very ill. She has successfully eliminated her Cancer and gotten the “all clear” from her doctors. (WELL DONE!) This has made me feel pretty darn good about life and the power of prayer and positive thinking. She and her husband are very positive, gentle people and I applaud their focus, love and determination. And they did it totally using a non conventional natural approach. This car was a beauty, and I had grown quite attached to it. The reason I mention this, is that I am personally constantly trying to battle materialism and make sure I keep the important things in life in proper perspective. Now I happened to love this Jaguar so it was a wonderful growth experience for me to give it up and replace it with something more valuable– the musical education of youngsters. As an aside…. since its been gone I haven’t missed it at all. A warm heart-felt Mother’s Day to all you Moms on the approaching holiday. Here’s my Mom. I had a great Mother. She used to keep us constantly engaged in one activity or another (trying to keep us out of trouble I suppose lol). She was very bright— she’d tackle and finish the New York Times Crossword Puzzle each and every Sunday. For those of you who are not familiar with crossword puzzles; the NY Times Puzzle is world renown for being one of the most difficult to solve. I get my love of words from her…. the Abbott’s are all Scrabble players because of her as well. I’m excited about what I will discover…… “Life is a gift, and it offers us the privilege, opportunity, and responsibility to give something back by becoming more.” Musically yours, Gregory
