We have had a lot of good people fighting the good fight over the decades and a relative few are given the seal of approval by polite society.
I once had this very conversation with Coretta King at the Congressional Black Caucus in Washington DC. She emphasized the importance of our honoring all those striving for racial and social justice.
We can’t forget all our past worthy warriors, nor can we forget our current ones who are there for us and need our attention and support.
Let’s use Martin Luther King Day as a reminder that we need our spiritual guides …. our heroes… both large and small.
